Since it’s the beginning of the month and we all heard the paycheck bells ring (whether they are yours or your parents’ :D), I thought I’d help you keep your money or at least most of it. As a student I felt obligated and inspired to create this ultimate student guide for cheap online shopping to show you how I shop online and get the best deals. Above I created 5 fabulous outfits, put together from sale pieces only. I made sure to only use pieces with the absolute best deals, so hurry up, and find your favorite pieces as long as they are still available in your size!
You know, you don’t have to compromise being fashionable just because you don’t want to pay 1000 bucks for a bag. Lol ok let me rephrase that, you CAN’T pay 1000 bucks for a bag because let’s face it, we’d all throw our money at Gucci, Chanel and the like.
Online shopping is usually cheaper than buying stuff in physical stores. Besides, I’m a huge advocate of online shopping because I think going physically to stores is a huge pain in the ass. You ask why? Well, first of all, you sweat. Especially now in the colder time (which is all year in Denmark lol) and we’re all wearing a million layers. Other than that, it’s just annoying dealing with so many people being in one place, you have to wait for your turn to look at clothes etc. Another struggle is when you are looking for something but don’t know which store might have it so you have to go on a treasure hunt to find it, but in the end all the time and effort was for nothing because you couldn’t find it anyway ? ?
I think you get my point 😛 Online shopping is just more convenient, time saving, cheaper and more systematic.
So with that being said, this should be your holy grail if you are trying to save money and still look fabulous. Here’s how I do it.
Find your outfit
I always look for some inspiration when scrolling through Instagram or Pinterest. Sometimes there’s an outfit I really like, so I save it and try to reconstruct it in my own style. That way you have an overview and already know what you are looking for and most likely don’t end up buying a lot of different pieces for no reason.
Shopping sites and Sale
Now it’s time to screen through the online stores you like. I usually order my stuff from ASOS, Missguided, Nelly, Zara or H&M, but I’m sure you have your go-to favorites. After that, you want to start right out at their SALE page. I almost never buy stuff for the full price unless I really want something specific for an event, where I am not sure I will find it in my size on sale. Other than that, I recommend screening the sale site first for whatever you’re looking for and first then move on to the regular sites.
Filter by price and size
Alright peeps, this is rule number 1 of cheap online shopping. As soon as you get to the desired page you should filter the page by price from lowest to highest. You should also set a filter by size and maybe even the specific style you are looking for. By utilizing all these filters, you don’t waste time looking at stuff that might not be available in your size or is above your budget.
Shop with a friend
Another tip I have, is to shop together with a friend and save delivery fees because you ordered above a certain amount without spending too much of your own money. This way you can get another item for the price you would have usually paid for the delivery fee.
Sign up for newsletters
Totally sign up for newsletters from your favorite online shops because they might even send you useful emails with info about when their sales start.
If you are a student but are not making use of student discounts, then are you even a student?! Use those coupons and get your stuff cheaper!
